Become a public transport Alcohol Ignition Lock (AIL) installer
Do you want to become an independent Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device installer? Our teams are at your service to explain the qualification processes.
The independent installer must meet the technical and administrative criteria required by the circular of 28 January 2009 (amended by the circular of 04 December 2009) and by the UTAC, and satisfy an assessment carried out by UTAC to obtain this qualification. This qualification will be based on an initial assessment meeting the circular of 28 January 2009 DEVS0828504C.
During this assessment, the following will be verified in particular:
- The setting up of a quality approach appropriate to the scope in question, based on the relevant ISO standards (e.g. ISO 17 020 or 9001), and which has been issued with a certificate by a certifying body or an audit report from the DRIRE for tachograph work.
- Training given by the component manufacturer(s) producing the IID or by a trainer approved by these manufacturers.
- A satisfactory audit by the body responsible for checking this qualification.
- Procedures ensuring compliance with the measures relative to product conformity.
To grant qualification, the designated body responsible for checking this qualification ensures that satisfactory measures and procedures are in place to guarantee effective inspection of the IID systems with regard to the regulatory requirements which the vehicle fitted with the ignition lock device must continue to fulfil.
