Acquisition of VCA MSC
UTAC CERAM acquires the Management Systems Certification (MSC) branch of the VCA.
UTAC CERAM expands its Management Systems Certification activities by the acquisition of the Vehicle Certification Agency's (VCA) Management Systems Certification body from the British Secretary of State for Transport, Department for Transport.
The acquisition of the VCA’s Management Systems Certification offices will strengthen the UTAC CERAM’s international presence by expanding its activities in the United Kingdom and the United States, and thus considering further developments on testing and homologation services.
With over 20 years’ experience, the VCA’s Management Systems Certification activities will be integrated into the UTAC brand in order to extend our range of certification services in the automotive sector:
- ISO 9001 Quality Certification
- IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Certification
- ISO 14001 Environmental Certification
- ISO 50001 Energy Management Certification
- OHSAS 18001 Health & Safety Certification
Agreement has already been granted by the relevant accreditation bodies and the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) oversight to secure the transition.
Thanks to a smooth transitional period, there will be no change in the Management Systems Certification process for the current VCA’s customers. All the personnel – composed of auditors, key contacts and client managers – will remain unchanged. Certificates and documents will simply be transferred to UTAC’s name.
The complementarity of the respective geographic coverage of both Management Systems Certification bodies will meet customer’s needs and expectations as part of their international development.
